Hi, I am Angie Baca,

a brass specialist, teaching Trumpet, French horn, Trombone, Baritone, Euphonium, and Tuba to students of all ages and abilities. I have taught music for more than 35 years, the last 18 years in the La Crescenta, La Canada, Glendale, Pasadena, Burbank, Los Angeles, California areas. My teaching experience includes private teaching; trumpet instructor at Cerritos College; brass and music theory instructor at CSUSB Music Conservatory; brass consultant and teacher for Baker Music Magnet School; brass coach for school music programs and Honor Bands; Carnegie High School Honors; LCF brass instructor and conductor; director and founder of The Foothill Youth Brass Ensemble. Many of my students have participated in the GUSD Honors Orchestra, Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra, Glendale Youth Orchestra, Verdugo Young Musicians Association, Tournament of Roses Honor Band and Herald Trumpets as well as All State and Southern California Honor Bands. 



My Background

I am freelance musician and founder of the Foothill Brass Quintet. Some of my performance experiences have included performing with Westchester-Marina Del Mar, Peninsula, Carson, Nasung, Rio Hondo, and San Diego Symphony Orchestras, Pasadena Lyric Opera, and recordings. I have also performed in the Fairbanks, Batiquitos, Edinburg, and Aberdeen Music Festivals.

I have a Bachelor of Music degree from San Diego State University, and a Masters in Trumpet Performance from the University of Southern California. My trumpet instructors have included Boyde Hood, Roy Poper, Rob Roy McGregor, Alan Siebert, Charlie Lauer, and Carolyn Whaley. I am a recipient of the Bank of America National Achievement Award. I am also a member of SCSBOA, Local 47, and Phi Mu Alpha.
